CSE and SEC continue stock market awareness drive with latest forum in Gampaha

The ‘Kotas Welenda Pola: Nagarayen Nagarayate’ Investor Forum organised by the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) in association with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC), was concluded at Saketha Madura, Gampaha on 10 November. 

The Gampaha Investor Forum, which drew the participation of over 200 current and new investors, marks the 14th event conducted by the CSE and SEC as part of the regional investor forum series organised around the country. 

Acuity Stockbrokers Ltd. Director Sales Kapila Pathirage presenting at the event offered an in-depth introduction to the stock market while outlining market performance. CIMB Investment Bank Associate Director Rasanja Perera presented an analysis of the various sectors and industries represented at CSE and shed light on a number of potential investment opportunities at present. 

SEC Director for External Affairs and Surveillance Tushara Jayaratne and CSE Head of Market Development Niroshan Wijesundere joined the two presenters in a panel discussion which fostered an engaging and open conversation between the speakers and participants present at the forum.

Participants were also given the opportunity to use the forum as a platform to meet investment advisors and representatives of unit trusts and obtain a better understanding of investing in the market.
