CSE and SEC host Regional Investor Forum in Ratnapura

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) saw the successful conclusion of yet another regional investor forum organised as part of an island-wide awareness drive. 

The forum which was held in Kuruwita, drew a strong interest among the investor community based in and around Ratnapura. This event was the 15th event conducted by the CSE and SEC as part the series titled ‘Kotas Welenda Pola: Nagarayen Nagarayate’. Taprobane Securities Ltd. Compliance Officer Roshan Fernando presented an introduction to the capital market while outlining market performance in recent times. CIMB Investment Bank Associate Director Rasanja Perera presented an analysis of the various sectors and industries represented at CSE and made a strong case on a number of potential investment opportunities at present. 

SEC Director for External Affairs and Surveillance Tushara Jayaratne and CSE Head of Market Development Niroshan Wijesundere joined the two presenters in a panel discussion which fostered an engaging and open conversation between the speakers and the participants.

Attendees were also given the opportunity to obtain advice from investment advisors and representatives of unit trusts to better understand the market and investment opportunities.
