CT CLSA hosts Asia Frontier Forum

A leading stockbroking firm this week hosted the Asia Frontier Forum in Colombo bringing together over 60 foreign delegates from Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa.  

The Foreign Institutional Investor present represent some of the largest and longstanding investors in Sri Lankan equities, as well as FIIs who made a significant contribution towards foreign inflows into Sri Lankan equities in the last 18 months. 

During their stay in Colombo they conducted nearly 100 one-on-one meetings and over 375 group meetings. They also benefited from keynote presentations and panel discussions featuring politicians, central bankers, regulators, government officials, multilateral lenders, market participants, private equity and private sector personalities. 

On Wednesday Central Bank Governor Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy made a presentation on the status of the economy and the future outlook. CLSA Group Secretary and CT CLSA Director Donald Skinner, CT CLSA Chairman Cecilia Muttukumaru and Consultant Marianne Page were also present. Later in the day, participants also attended a panel discussion featuring Ministry of Strategic Development and International Trade Advisor Ajit Gunewardene; Actis Partner, Head South Asia Private Equity Asanka Rodrigo and UAE-based Samena Capital Investments Managing Director Chetan Gupta. The session was moderated by Hemas Holdings Director Strategy Ruwani Hettiarachchi.
