Central Bank releases “Economic and Social Statistics of Sri Lanka – 2024”

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has made its annual publication, the “Economic and Social Statistics of Sri Lanka – 2024”, available for public access.

The Statistics Department of the CBSL compiles this information, which consists of statistical tables categorised under eight major areas, i.e. “national output, expenditure and income”,

“economic and social infrastructure”, “prices, wages and employment”, “external trade and finance”, “Government finance”, “money, interest rates and capital markets”, “financial sector performance” and “Sri Lanka and the rest of the world”. 

Each of these areas contains a useful collection of information for those who are interested in socio-economic data.

From 2024 onwards this will be available as an online data release containing long series data in an easily accessible and downloadable format catering to the data requirements of various stakeholders.
