Ceylinco General Insurance launches ‘Mawupiya Rakawarana’ in collaboration with InsureMe.lk

Ceylinco General Insurance in partnership with InsureMe.lk introduced ‘Mawupiya Rakawarana’, an insurance cover to support senior citizens. Mauwpiya Rakawarana is an innovative insurance scheme for senior citizens between the ages of 55 to 80 years, whereby hospitalisation expenses stemming from an accident will be reimbursed up to Rs. 500,000 per annum along with a cover for permanent total disability caused by accidents up to Rs. 500,000. The complete scheme will cost only Rs. 10 per day or Rs. 300 per month.

The premium for Mawupiya Rakawarana insurance could be paid monthly, quarterly, bi-annually or annually.  The cover does not require any pre-requisites and can be purchased online by visiting InsureMe.lk or via a call to their hotline, 0117 117 117. The required information includes the name of the person to be insured, ID Number and relationship. Upon completion of the transaction, a confirmation of cover will be sent online directly. Ceylinco General Insurance Chief Executive Officer Ajith Gunawardena said, “At a time when Sri Lanka is aging, products such as Mawupiya Rakawarana will deliver the benefits to support senior citizens.  We do not always look at such situations as business opportunities but as a corporate responsibility.
