Chula promoted to Executive Director on Softlogic Life Insurance Board

Softlogic Life Insurance PLC has announced the appointment of H. Chula Hettiarachchi as an Executive Director on its Board.

Previously, he was the Chief Operating Officer and Principal Officer, whilst contributing extensively to the growth and development of the business with expert focus on agency distribution.

The appointment follows Leapfrog Investments’ acquisition of a 19% stake in Softlogic Life Insurance PLC for $ 12 million in December.

Hettiarachchi is a well-known and highly experienced insurance personality with over 20 years of first-hand involvement in the Sri Lankan life insurance industry. He has specialist market knowledge and has held senior positions with the company.

He holds a B.Com degree from the University of Kelaniya and has received extensive overseas training with Allied Dunbar UK, FALIA Japan, and OLIS Japan as well as the Indian Insurance Institute, Pune and Munich Re in Germany.

Following the latest appointment, the Board of Softlogic Life Insurance PLC comprises of Ashok Pathirage (Chairman), J.H.P. Ratnayeke (Deputy Chairman), T.M.I. Ahamed (Managing Director), H. Chula Hettiarachchi, S. Rajapakse, M.R. Abeywardena, H.K. Kaimal, R. Will and F.P.L. Lima.
