The Clearing Association of Bankers (CAB) held its 11th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 24 January at HNB Towers, Colombo 10.

This special event was attended by Lanka Clear Ltd. General Manager/CEO Channa De Silva.

Amongst the other distinguished guests at the occasion were members of the corporate management and the heads of the clearing departments of commercial banks, members of the managements of sponsor companies, and members of CAB.

AB Securitas Ltd. was the Platinum Sponsor of the event, while the Gold Sponsor was Digiscan Secure Print Solution Ltd. and Silver Sponsors were Lake House Security Printers. Lanka Clear Ltd. and BC Computers, along with a number of other sponsors provided financial assistance for the event.

The Clearing Association of Bankers was formed in 2008 with the objective of enhancing the knowledge of bankers as well as to promote goodwill, understanding and fellowship amongst those engaged in clearing.

Throughout the previous years, CAB has been able to fulfill the above objectives with the much anticipated Inter-Bank Quiz competition and the popular Inter-Bank Softball Cricket Tournament, with a large participation from banks. On the success of these events the CAB has been able to build their membership to a greater extent.

As the 11th AGM of the CAB, this milestone event was full of glamour and colour to enable all participants to experience a memorable evening.  MCB Bank’s M. Razak Deen was re-elected as the President of the CAB.
