Jayantha Amarasinghe has officially been appointed as the Chairman of Co-operative Insurance Company PLC, having previously served as Acting Chairman. He was appointed to the board in 2022 as a representative of Wennapuwa MPCS, the major shareholder of Co-operative Insurance Company PLC, which holds a 13.13% ownership stake. His leadership is expected to drive the company toward continued success.
Additionally, Dayasumana Gamage has been appointed as the new Vice Chairman of Co-operative Insurance Company PLC. He joined the board as an independent non-executive director in November 2023. Prior to this role, he served as the Deputy Commissioner of the Co-operative Development Department of the Central Government. Gamage’s expertise and experience will be instrumental in developing the company’s captive business portfolio.
