Dilshani Wijayawardana joins Senkadagala Finance Board

Dilshani Gayathri Wijayawardana has been appointed to the Board of Senkadagala Finance PLC as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

Wijayawardana has been an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka from the year 1996 to date.

She obtained her Master in Law Degree (LLM specialising in commercial law) from the University of Cambridge, UK. She has been in active commercial law practice, appearing in primary and appellate court litigation in cases involving corporate law, banking, regulation, insurance, intellectual property, securities law, and the like.

Wijayawardana began her legal career in 1996 as a Research Assistant to Justice Mark Fernando and then went on to work as a Legal Executive at Shook Lin and Bok, Advocates and Solicitors, in Singapore in the year 1999/2000. She has also been practicing in the chambers of President’s Counsel Dr. K. Kanag-Isvaran.

She has published many articles on commercial law and is also the co-author of the book “Company Law”, published in the year 2014. She has served as a Commissioner for the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka from 20 15 to 2018. She served as a member of the Advisory Committee appointed for the drafting of the new Securities and Exchange Act of 2021.

Wijayawardana also currently serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Union Bank PLC.
