Dinuka Perera appointed Chairman at Mercantile Investments and Finance

Dinuka Perera

Dinuka Perera was first appointed to the Board of Mercantile Investments and Finance PLC in a capacity of Non-Executive Independent Director in February 2020 and served as Acting Chairman since February 2021. He has been the Chief Financial Officer at Millennium IT ESP Ltd., (MIT ESP) since August 2018 to date. He had previously been employed at Akzo Nobel Paints (Former CIC Paints) for over seven years and when leaving he held the position of General Manager – Finance for Sri Lanka operation.

He had also been employed at Ernst & Young Sri Lanka for a period of seven years where he has been one of the few members of the firm to reach the position of Senior Manager in five years of employment, while doing a secondment in Guam office of Ernst & Young LLP, USA.

He has been a visiting lecturer at the Management Faculty of University of Colombo, University of Kelaniya and at certain other professional education institutes and colleges in Sri Lanka and Maldives.

Perera holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management – Sri Jayewardenepura

University and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. He is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK, a Fellow Member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka and a Member of the Chartered Global Management Accountants USA.

With the latest appointment, the Board of Directors of Mercantile Investments and Finance comprises P.D.D. Perera (Chairman), G.G. Ondaatjie (Managing Director), A.M. Ondaatjie, T.J. Ondaatjie, S.H. Jayasuriya, A.L.N. Dias, E.D. Wickramasuriya and M.K.S. Pieris.
