CFA Society Sri Lanka has organised a webinar on ESG Fundamentals in association with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) and the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE). It will be held on 8 September from 3.00 to 4.30 p.m. Sri Lanka Time to further strengthen the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) focus in the Sri Lankan capital market as part of the program series on ESG.
CFA Society Sri Lanka ESG Committee CFA Chairperson Rashmi Peiris Paranavitane comments: “Whether you are in investment banking, commercial banking, private industry, or investment management, you will no doubt be faced with growing interest in ESG. It is important to have an understanding of ESG factors and application of ESG to contribute to the financial decision-making.”
The webinar will help participants to refresh the key concepts of the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors, then take a deep dive into systems thinking and the importance of context in ESG.
The session will be suitable for Investors, Corporate Leaders, Directors, Managers, Analysts, Compliance Managers, Stock Brokers, and those who want to understand ESG factors and their application.
APAC CFA Institute Institutional Partnerships Director Dr. David von Eiff, a sustainability specialist, will conduct the session. David brings a combined 13 years of experience in environmental compliance, research, and sustainability.
He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy at the City University of Hong Kong and his Master of Science in Environmental Economics and Public Policy at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York.
His main research areas; address the economic, sustainability, and climate change issues associated with water supply management decisions.
He previously spent eight years as a regulatory specialist in Environmental, Health & Safety Management Systems. Having clients across a wide range of industries improve their environmental programs and identify methods by which they could make their operations more sustainable, including process redesign, water and energy conservation, and developing environmental management systems.
