EY former Country Managing Partner Ruwan Fernando appointed to DFCC Board

Former Ernst & Young Country Managing Partner Ruwan Harsha Fernando has been appointed to the Board of DFCC Bank Plc as Non-Executive Independent Director.

Fernando is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute Management Accountants (CIMA) UK. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and is a Member of Association Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA)-UK. 

He has over 40 years of experience serving clients across both audit and advisory platforms. He has served as audit partner for various publicly listed clients and senior advisory partner on many of Ernst & Young Sri Lanka’s largest clients. Fernando served as Ernst & Young’s (EY) Country Managing Partner from April 2016 until he retired in June 2021.

He served as a council member of the National Chamber of Commerce – Sri Lanka and National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka. He also was responsible for the Commercialisation of the Public Enterprises Division contract under the Ministry of Finance where he was responsible for the restructuring and privatisation of a large number of State Owned Enterprises (SOES) between 1998 and 2003.

Nemmawatta, H.A.J. de Silva Wijeyeratne, H.M.N.S. Gunawardana, N.V. Kumar, A.L. Thambiayah, W.D. Batagoda and W.R.H. Fernando.
