Fintrex Finance Ltd. welcomed two new Directors to its team with the appointment of K. Sivaskantharajah and Nilam Jayasinghe.
Renowned and respected corporate personalities, their years of business acumen and experience will undoubtedly contribute towards value addition and continued growth at Fintrex.
Sivaskantharajah is an Attorney-at-Law, Solicitor (England and Wales), and was admitted to the Bar in October 1981. With over 40 years of professional experience, he is well versed in the fields of litigation, commercial law, conveyancing and company secretarial practice. He served in senior legal capacity at a leading finance company for over nine years and also held the position of ‘Head of Legal (Litigation)’ John Keells Holding PLC from 1993 to 2017, prior to joining Fintrex Finance.
Nilam Jayasinghe is presently an independent consultant and served as CBL Group (Ceylon Biscuits) Group Finance Director, and the Executive Director of its Holding Company CBL Investments Ltd. and its subsidiaries from 2012 until his retirement in July 2021. With diversified experience in the financial, manufacturing and service industries spanning over 35 years, he served as NDB Bank Vice President and on the boards of subsidiary companies within the NDB Group. He was Group Treasurer of the Aitken Spence Group, Director of Aitken Spence Corporate Finance Ltd. and was responsible for introducing the Corporate Treasury concept to Sri Lanka in the early 1990’s, as well as a number of financial instruments. Prior to this, he was Finance and Commercial Manager of Lanka Tiles PLC, when the company was originally set up. He is an alumnus of KPMG.
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK, and Past President of CIMA Sri Lanka Division, he served on the Global Board of CIMA UK and was the Vice Chair of the Global Markets Committee. He was a past Chairman of the Industrial Association of Sri Lanka affiliated to the Ceylon Chamber and served on the main committee of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, the Company Law Reforms Commission, and the Board of the Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Monitoring Board. In 2019, he served as Bank of Ceylon Independent Director and chaired its Audit Committee.
