Fintrex Finance appoints veteran banker Indrajit to Board

Indrajit Wickramasinghe

Fintrex Finance Ltd., has announced the appointment of Indrajit Wickramasinghe to its Board of Directors.

Wickramasinghe is a veteran banker having worked for several leading banks. Before joining the Board of Fintrex Finance he was the Director/CEO of Union Bank of Colombo PLC for over nine years up to his retirement in August 2024. He counts over 35 years of management experience having worked in both the financial and FMCG sectors in both local and multinational companies.

Prior to his stint at Union Bank, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of National Development Bank PLC where he was responsible for all business areas including Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, SME Banking and Project Finance. Prior to joining the financial sector he was with the leading multinational Reckitt and Colman of Ceylon Ltd. where he held numerous senior management positions.

Wickramasinghe has also served on a number of boards as a Non-Executive Director which included Eagle Insurance/Aviva Insurance, NDB Capital Holdings PLC, NDB Securities Ltd,, Development Holdings Ltd., The Credit Information Bureau of Sri Lanka, UB Finance PLC, National Asset Management Ltd., the Chairman of Financial Ombudsman Sri Lanka (Guarantee).

He holds an MBA from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK. He has been exposed to Executive Education programs at the National University of Singapore, The Said Business School of the University of Oxford UK, INSEAD (France) and is a member of the Oxford Business Alumni, University of Oxford UK.
