HDFC Bank partners with Amana Takaful Insurance

HDFC Bank CEO/GM Palitha Gamage exchanges the copies of the signed MOU with Amana Takaful Chief Executive Officer Fazal Gafoor

 


HDFC Bank recently signed an MOU with Amana Takaful PLC in respect of obtaining cattle insurance ‘Kiri govi Sathkara’ to cover both cattle and farmer life.

HDFC Bank Chief Executive Officer/General Manager Palitha Gamage and Officer Amana Takaful PLC Chief Executive Fazal Gafoor signed on behalf of the two organisations.

This MOU was signed in the presence of Chief Operating Officer M.K. Nambiyarooran, AGM-Legal Sudishna Perera, Head of Credit Manjula Dissanayaka, Manager Corporate and Development Finance Anura Dissanayaka, and Branch Operations and Bancassurance AGM Gayan De Silva.

This tie up of HDFC with Amana Takaful Insurance will ensure protection of farmers and their families against risk of losing the cattle due to natural, accidental perils and to best serve its constantly increasing volume of customers. Under this MOU the loan customers of HDFC Bank will have the opportunity of obtaining a cattle insurance policy from Amana Takaful Insurance to mitigate the risk in dairy projects in case of animal deaths with affordable premiums to customers. Special free cover also provides to farmer in case of farmer’s death or permanent total disability of the farmer. 

The association with Amana Takaful PLC will provide HDFC Bank’s loan customers with the best-in class products and services beyond the normal loans. HDFC Bank is a specialised bank with a track record of over 34 years in providing housing finance and related services. The bank’s recent product diversification resulted in the introduction of new credit schemes including Development Loans, Gold Loans and Vehicle Leasing. From the inception of development loan scheme, bank is involved granting of credit facilities to the dairy industry.
