HNB files case against Aussie software firm

Hatton National Bank PLC has instituted legal proceedings against Wolters Kluwer Financial Services Australia Ltd. (WKFS) to seek recovery of $ 500,000 approx., which the Bank had paid to the said company for the implementation and commissioning of an automated financial software.

HNB had also prayed for relief from courts in the form of damages valued at $ 2.82 million or the Sri Lankan rupee equivalent.

The case was called before the Commercial High Court on Tuesday (18 June), last as part of preliminary hearings in relation to the alleged breach of contract by the Australian IT firm.

HNB first commenced legal action over the dispute on 20 February.
