Hatton National Bank PLC (HNB), has introduced an education loan for CFA students, aiming to support aspiring Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) in their educational pursuits.

This initiative underscores HNB’s commitment to empowering the next generation of finance professionals and fostering professional education in Sri Lanka.

As the financial sector continues to evolve, the demand for CFA certification has surged, with professionals seeking globally recognised credentials to enhance their expertise and career prospects. However, the financial burden associated with CFA exams often poses a challenge for many candidates. HNB’s education loan aims to alleviate these financial constraints, enabling students to pursue their certification with confidence.

HNB Business Development Head Samuddika Mendis said: “At HNB, we recognise the critical role that professional education plays in shaping the future of Sri Lanka’s financial industry. Our education loan for CFA students is a testament to our dedication to financial inclusivity, ensuring that talented individuals have the opportunity to achieve globally recognised qualifications without being hindered by financial constraints.”

This partnership is further strengthened through its collaboration with CFA Society Sri Lanka, an organisation dedicated to promoting financial literacy and career advancement within the industry. This collaboration partnership reflects a shared vision of expanding access to high-quality financial education and equipping professionals with the skills required to excel in a competitive global market.

CFA President Rashmi Peiris Paranavitane said: “The CFA credential is a gold standard in the finance industry, and accessibility to this certification is crucial for Sri Lanka’s economic and professional growth. Our collaboration with HNB is an important step in ensuring that aspiring CFA candidates receive the necessary financial support to pursue their goals and contribute to the nation’s financial sector.”

HNB has long been a pioneer in education financing, consistently introducing innovative solutions to support students in achieving their academic and professional aspirations. The launch of the education loan for CFA students reaffirms the Bank’s commitment to nurturing talent and facilitating career advancement opportunities for finance professionals across the country.
