Indra Traders MD Rushanka joins Sampath Bank board

Indra Traders Managing Director Rushanka Silva has been appointed to the board of Sampath Bank Plc as a Non-Executive Independent Director.

Intra Traders owner Y.S.H. Indra K. Silva holds 9.98% stake in Sampath Bank Plc.

Rushanka is already a Non-Executive Director of Sampath Centre Ltd., a subsidiary of Sampath Bank Plc, and is a dedicated professional with a solid background in management accounting, marketing and sales.

Having completed his secondary education at Trinity College, Kandy, he qualified as a CIMA accountant. Subsequently, he obtained his MBA from the University of Western Sydney, Australia.

He is also a Non-Executive Director of Serendib Finance Ltd., a subsidiary of Commercial Bank Plc, a Director of Indra Motor Spares Ltd., Indra Property Development Ltd. and Indra Holding Ltd.

With the latest appointment, the Board of Directors of Sampath Bank Plc comprises Channa Palansuriya (Chairman), K.M.A.K. Ranasinghe (Deputy Chairman), M.N.R. Fernando (Managing Director), D. Sooriyaarachchi, D.S. Wijayatilake, S.K.G. Senanayake, A.H.W. Senanayake, R.P. Pathirana, S. Ameresekera and Y.S.H.R.S. Silva.
