Issue of circulation standard commemorative currency note to mark 70th Independence Day

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka issued a circulation standard commemorative currency note in the denomination of Rs. 1,000 to mark the 70th Independence Day celebration of the country. The currency note was officially presented to the Minister of Finance and Mass Media Mangala Samaraweera by Central Bank Governor Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy on 30 January.
