Jayaraja Chandrasekera assumes duties as NSB Chairman

Jayaraja Chandrasekera yesterday assumed duties as the new Chairman of National Savings Bank (NSB).

Chandrasekera is a senior banking professional with over 40 years of experience in Hatton National Bank and later at Pan Asia Bank as a member of the Board of Directors.He also functions in the capacity of Management Consultant.  

He has gathered experience in wider spectrum of banking while serving at Hatton National Bank and has undergone training at prestigious local and foreign academic institutions and banks. He is a member of the Association of Professional Bankers.

In addition, he has also actively engaged with religious institutions specially, Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya and at present he is the Secretary of the Dayaka Sabawa.

Minister of Ports and Shipping and Southern Development Sagala Ratnayake, State Minister of Finance Eran Wickramaratne, MP D.M. Swaminathan, Western Provincial Council Member Upali Gunaratne and former NSBChairman and Ministry of Finance Director General – ERD Priyantha Ratnayake and the Board of Directors of NSB and General Manager/CEO of NSB and corporate management were among those who attended the occasion.
