Top legal expert Kanishka Weerasinghe has been appointed to the Board of PMF Finance PLC as a Non-Executive Independent Director.

Weerasinghe is an accomplished Attorney-at-Law with over thirty years of experience in the legal profession. His distinguished career includes tenure as State Counsel at the Attorney General’s Department and former Director-General/CEO of the Employers’ Federation of Ceylon. Weerasinghe has held several key positions both nationally and internationally. Notably, he has been an employer member of the Standards Review Mechanism Tripartite Working Group (SRM-TWG) of the International Labour Organisation (ILO). His expertise has been instrumental in shaping employment policies in Sri Lanka, as evidenced by his roles on the National Labour Advisory Council, National Productivity Steering Committee, Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) and the Panel of Experts appointed by the Justice Ministry for Labour Law and procedural reforms.

In addition to his public service, Weerasinghe has provided legal consultancy to several prominent corporate organisations. Most recently, he was appointed as the Senior Legal Consultant on Employment and Compliance for MAS Capital Holdings and performs a similar role at Watawala Plantation PLC, Morrisons Ltd., SriLankan Airlines and Sri Lanka Telecom PLC. He is also a consultant to the World Bank.
