Kuhan appointed as CEO of RDB

Pradeshiya Sanwardana Bank (RDB) has announced the appointment of Thetchanamurthy Kuhan as the new Chief Executive Officer.

He was previously serving as the Acting General Manager/CEO of RDB from February 2019. He joined the Bank also known as Regional Development Bank in September 2011 as the Deputy General Manager/Chief Risk Officer 

Kuhan counts more than 28 years of experience in banking sector out of which includes over 10 years’ experience in the senior management level of banking.

He is a Senior Fellow Member of Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka and has completed Diploma in Banking and Finance from IBSL. He has obtained his Master of Arts Degree in Financial Economics from University of Colombo. He has two Post Graduate Diplomas, One Post Graduate Diploma in Bank Management from Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka and another Post Graduate Diploma in Economic Development from University of Colombo. Apart from that he has a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from University of Moratuwa. 

Kuhan has started his career as a technical assistant at Brown & Company Ltd. in February 1988 and has joined Ceylon Synthetic Textiles Mills Ltd. as an Assistant Engineer in 1989.

Subsequently, Kuhan has commenced his career as a Banker in March 1991 by joining Hatton National Bank PLC as a Project Executive, in the Head Office Project Finance division and has held positions up to Relationship Manager – Corporate Banking Division and counts over 17 years of experience at HNB. Thereafter, he has joined as the Chief Manager Corporate Banking and Risk Management areas in Union Bank of Colombo PLC in July 2008 and continued until September 2011.
