LB Finance announces two Independent Non-Executive Directors to Board

LB Finance PLC has announced the appointment of Priyantha Talwatte and Piyal Hennayake as Independent Non-Executive Directors.

Talwatte is a senior business leader with over 22 years of experience, including 4 years as a Chief Executive Officer, specialising in organisational transformation, strategic planning, and risk management.

With expertise in leveraging technology for growth, he has a strong background in banking, telecommunications, and business strategy. He has initiated the process of achieving profitability from an economic crisis in the year 2023 by implementing a three-year growth strategy during his tenure at his previous employment. He has driven significant profit growth during the pandemic, launched Sri Lanka’s first digital bank, and developed a cutting-edge analytics unit. His career also includes leadership roles in telecommunications and marketing. He holds an Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School, an MBA, and a Diploma in Marketing.

Hennayake is an accomplished professional with over 40 years of experience spanning various fields such as engineering, portfolio management, credit, project finance, branch network management, administration/services, real estate, teaching, and consultancy. He has spent 26 years in senior roles within a venture capital company and two commercial banks. A dedicated contributor to the banking sector, Hennayake has served as Council Member, Vice President, and President (2014-15) of the Association of Professional Bankers (APB) Sri Lanka. He is also involved with the Organisation of Professional Associations (OPA), where he served as Vice President from 2015 to 2016, and represents the banking sector on its Executive Council.
