LB Finance welcomes Ravi Tissera as new Chief Transformation Officer

LB Finance PLC has announced the appointment of Ravi Tissera as the company's Chief Transformation Officer (CTO), marking a significant milestone in its journey towards future-focused growth and innovation.

With a strong reputation for leadership in organisational transformation, Tissera brings with him a wealth of experience and strategic insight. His appointment signals LB Finance PLC’s commitment to embracing change and driving the next phase of sustainable growth, innovation, and customer-centric operational excellence.

Tissera is vastly experienced and has more than three decades experience in the Non-Bank Financial Institution space and have managed financial institutions in Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and the Philippines.

Tissera was the founder CEO of LOLC Microcredit Ltd. in 2008, which later merged with and was acquired by LOLC Finance PLC in 2018. He continued as Executive Deputy Chairman/CEO of the merged entity until February, 2020. He moved to Myanmar in 2020 as CEO of Early Dawn Microfinance Ltd. The company made vast improvements during his time as CEO and is now among the top three micro-finance institutions in Myanmar.

Tissera was also instrumental in the NGO transformation of BRAC Sri Lanka to a Non-Bank Financial Institution and expanded micro-finance entities overseas for the LOLC group in Myanmar, Cambodia, Pakistan, and Zambia.

Tissera has held board positions in many companies in Sri Lanka and overseas and has served as an Alternate Director of Seylan Bank PLC and also as an Independent Director at HNB Finance PLC. He has strong competencies in Corporate Finance and led the first USD syndicate debt finance to the NBFI sector in Sri Lanka. Prior to joining LB Finance, Tissera was designated as the Chief Transformation Manager at 1st Valley Bank Philippines and was part of their leadership team.

Tissera is professionally qualified as a marketer and has received executive education training in strategic leadership at Harvard Business School. During his time as CEO at LOLC Micro Credit, INSEAD Business School made a case study of the business model as an effective social enterprise. He is also a panellist and resource person in the inclusive finance, impact investing, and green finance space.
