LankaPay, Sri Lanka’s National Payment Network, has announced its continued partnership with the 9th Annual Cyber Security Summit, marking the sixth consecutive year of collaboration.
As the Official Payment Network of this prestigious event, LankaPay is committed to supporting and promoting cybersecurity awareness and resilience in Sri Lanka.
The Cyber Security Summit, a flagship event in Sri Lanka’s cybersecurity calendar, is co-organised by CICRA, a leading cybersecurity training and consultancy company, and Daily FT, the country’s premier business paper. Together, these partners have consistently elevated the summit to its current prominence, solidifying its status as a cornerstone event in the field of cybersecurity within Sri Lanka.
The summit, comprising three key events, promises an engaging and informative experience for attendees: CEO’s Breakfast Forum (11 October). The theme for this year’s forum is, “Is Cyber Security the Next Crisis?” Distinguished speakers and experts will delve into this pressing issue and discuss why cybersecurity should be a prominent topic at boardroom discussions.
Day Conference on 12 October to be held at the Oak Room, Cinnamon Grand, will feature local and international speakers focusing on three critical areas: Payment Card Industry Data Protection, Cloud Security, and Zero Trust.
Certified Ethical Hacking V12 Training Session (9, 11, 13, 21 and 28) A unique addition to this year’s summit, the training sessions will be conducted by the world-renowned EC Council Master Trainer, Belly Richardinato from Indonesia. Participants will gain invaluable knowledge and skills in ethical hacking.
LankaPay CEO Channa de Silva said: “We are delighted to have partnered with 9th Cyber Security Summit as the Official Payment Network for the 6th time. During the year 2022/23 we facilitated over 313 million interbank digital transactions amounting to over Rs. 24 trillion in value. Being the National Payment Network, security is naturally at the heart of our operations. We make significant investments in our security infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted interbank financial transactions for the smooth functioning of the country’s financial system including the world-renowned PCI-DSS certification. Ensuring the highest standards in security has a huge bearing on the public trust on the country’s financial system as well as digital payments. We applaud CICRA Campus and Daily FT on their endeavour to enhance the awareness on cyber security in the country in support of the country’s digitalisation journey.”
“In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the threat of cybersecurity breaches has grown exponentially,” said CICRA Holdings Group Director/CEO Boshan Dayaratne. “Many organisations hastily embraced digitalisation for survival during the pandemic, often overlooking security concerns. Now, as we emerge from the COVID era, it is imperative that we reevaluate our processes, applications, and data infrastructure to ensure robust cybersecurity.”
Over the years, the Annual Cyber Security Summit has played a pivotal role in raising cybersecurity awareness and resilience in Sri Lanka. It has evolved into a crucial platform, engaging a broader spectrum of professionals beyond IT experts. Its impact is further amplified by extensive media coverage, making it a go-to event for cybersecurity discussions.
