NAMAL appoints new CEO

National Asset Management Ltd. (NAMAL), announced the appointment of Charana Jayasuriya as its new Chief Executive Officer from 24 January.

Prior to his appointment as CEO, Jayasuriya was the Chief Operating Officer of NAMAL. He counts over 20 years’ experience in the capital markets of Sri Lanka, and in the United Kingdom in asset management, investment banking and financial regulation. Prior to joining NAMAL, Jayasuriya was a Fund Manager for Aegis Fund Management Ltd., managing funds for some of the largest institutional investors in Sri Lanka. 

Jayasuriya holds a LLB (Hons.) Law and LLM in Banking and Finance Law from University College – London and has completed the Advanced Asset Management Program at INSEAD, and the Oxford Fintech Programme from the Said Business School – University of Oxford.

NAMAL is Sri Lanka’s pioneer Unit Trust management company and has been successfully managing funds since 1991. NAMAL offers a suite of equity, fixed income, and wealth management solutions to its clients. NAMAL is a subsidiary of Union Bank of Colombo PLC in association with DFCC Bank PLC.
