NDB Bank’s “Trailblazers” were recognised at the Retail Banking Awards 2020/21

NDB recently held it’s Annual Retail Banking Awards as a dual awards ceremony for the years 2020 and 2021 in order to recognise the Bank’s top achievers in the retail banking sector. The event was held at Galadari Hotel, Colombo under the theme ‘Trailblazers’. 

The award ceremony was attended by NDB Bank’s Director/CEO Dimantha Seneviratne along with the leadership team, staff and winners of the bank. 

In 2020, NDB’s Bambalapitiya Private Wealth Centre Branch won the Champion Award for Best National Branch for the third consecutive year while the Bank’s Fort Branch won the title for 2021. 

Meanwhile, first runners-up for 2020 and 2021 were Havelock Town Branch and Bambalapitiya Private Wealth Centre Branch respectively with Marine Drive Branch and Pettah Branch emerging as the second runners-up for the two years 2020 and 2021.

NDB Bank’s Colombo Region won the Best Region Champion Award for both years.

This year’s Retail Banking Awards was noteworthy as the ceremony was held after a lapse of one year due to the current pandemic situation. Nevertheless, the event is one of the most spectacular events of the bank. The NDB Retail Banking Awards was introduced in 2007 to recognise the performance of the Retail Banking staff of NDB.  While the event itself gives prominence to recognising performance against the targets for the preceding year, it also contributes in developing a competitive sales culture and also encourages performance and excellence through a predefined and agreed structure.  The NDB Retail Banking Awards has now become the most sought after event to attend by the NDB branch network staff of the bank. 

NDB Bank was awarded the “Best Digital Bank 2021” at the Asiamoney Best Bank Awards for Sri Lanka in addition to being crowned “Sri Lanka’s Best Bank 2021” by the prestigious Global Finance Magazine of USA, and “The Bank of the Year Sri Lanka”, by The Banker Magazine UK and is the “Most Awarded Corporate 2021” as per LMD ranking.
