NDB Bank was recently ranked Number 9 amongst the top 10 in the Top 30 Corporates in Sri Lanka in its latest evaluation by ‘The Business Today’ Magazine. The Bank was honoured this position in recognition of its success during the relevant financial years at a ceremony graced by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Chief Guest.

Surpassing its position in the Top 30 from number 27 in 2017 to number 18 in 2018 to number 9 in 2019, NDB was recognised for the bank’s stable performance, steady organic growth, competitive strengths, innovative banking solutions and sustainability initiatives.

Business Today Top 30 2018-2019 indicates the manner in which the banking and financial sector has performed even through challenging times. They have streamlined their strategies and processes to ensure that while the organisation performs the customers to benefit. NDB Bank has thus ranked the ninth position in this coveted list.

Commenting on this feat, NDB Group CEO Dimantha Seneviratne said, “NDB started off as a development bank 40 years ago and provided yeoman service in the development of this country as a project finance specialist. With the country moving to middle income category and drying up of funding lines, the bank has, since 2005, successfully transformed into a full service commercial bank and a financial services conglomerate carrying forward its development heritage; helping individuals, small and medium enterprises and conglomerates alike to develop and grow to realise their full potential.”

“As we move into the new decade, we believe that digital convenience is the way forward. Digitisation of our customer touch points, such as our NEOS App and phygital branches have made rapid progress and we have also made process improvements by systematically deploying robotics and workflow systems. This will improve efficiencies and the agility to lead the transformation that digitization will bring, not only in the banking industry but the country as a whole,” he said, adding “The credit of this esteemed achievement should go to my leadership team for leading the transformation of the bank and the staff, for their unstinted loyalty and hard work; my Board of Directors, for their guidance, wisdom and strategic directions.”
