NDB opens 50th CRM at Asiri Hospital Kandy

In a continuing joint venture between NDB and the Asiri Group of Hospitals, NDB recently expanded its automated delivery channels by ceremoniously opening a Cash Recycle Machine (CRM) at the Asiri Hospital in Kandy on 19 August in line with the bank’s 40th anniversary celebrations. 

The CRM was opened by Asiri Central Hospital Director Operations Nihal Rathnayake and Senior Vice President Personal Banking and Branch Network Management Sanjaya Perera.

At this opening the management of Asiri Hospital Kandy briefed the NDB Privilege Banking clients on the state-of-the-art facilities; complete with a fully-fledged 24 Hour Heart Centre and the only MRI scanner outside of Colombo in the private sector, now available at their newest hospital in Kandy. With this opening the Bank now has a total of 50 Cash Recycle Machines (CRMs) island-wide. These Self Banking units enable customers to conveniently perform deposits/withdrawals on a 24x7x365 basis.

The staff and patients of Asiri Hospital, Kandy as well as the Asiri Group of Hospitals in Colombo are now able to carry out banking transactions such as cash withdrawals, cash deposits, balance inquiries and fund transfers easily and conveniently. NDB has taken considerable strides in the digital arena, bringing the customer’s banking experience to a whole new level that is faster, more secure and convenient to use.

Delivering customer convenience is a key driver at NDB. The Bank is currently in the process of carrying out branch transformations to simplify processes while saving time and cost for customers. Accordingly, NDB has installed Self Banking units at several of its branch locations, with which customers are given the convenience of 24 x 7 deposits and withdrawals. Customers can now avail this 24 hour service at 50+ locations island-wide. This service eliminates the need to spend time waiting in queues, and encourages customers to embrace efficient digital banking. 

The Bank has fully embraced the digital future with 70% of its transactions now occurring via digital channels. Meanwhile, the Bank has empowered its customers by offering a host of digital tools such as mobile and online banking in addition to the Bank’s first Phygital Branch, NDB NEOS which positioned NDB as the first Bank in Sri Lanka to introduce a fully paperless banking branch.

In time to come the Bank will enhance the range of services provided to their customers to further ease their banking activities, progressing into new solutions, providing additional value.
