NLF announces resignation of CEO Suresh M. Amerasekera

Nation Lanka Finance PLC has announced the resignation of the current CEO Suresh M. Amerasekera effective from 28 March.

Suresh is a Senior Banker, with over 40 years of experience in the Finance Industry. Previously held the position as the Pan Oceanic Bank Solomon Islands CEO from May 2016 to September 2018.

Prior to that, he held the position of Orient Finance PLC and Housing Development Finance Corporation CEO.

Amerasekera also served as Seylan Bank Assistant General Manager and as the Alliance Finance Co PLC Chief Operating Officer. He had his initial training in banking at the Colombo branches of State Bank of India and Bank of America.

He holds an MBA (International Business) from the Edith Cowan University, Western Australia, and an Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK.

He was instrumental in spearheading Orient Finance to complete one of the most successful mergers in the Non-Banking Finance sector, recording the best ever profits in the Company during the 2015/2016 period.

He has a proven track record in Strategy Formulation, Corporate and Retail Lending, and Risk Management and has the unique distinction of holding five “C Suite” positions in two Banks and three Finance Companies in the last 14 years.
