NDB Securities yesterday revealed that year to date net foreign outflow from the Colombo stock market crossed the Rs. 20 billion mark though the Bourse ended on the up.
Last year the market finished with a net inflow of Rs. 17.7 billion.
NDB Securities said the ASPI closed in green as a result of price gains in counters such as AIA Insurance, Ceylon Tobacco Company and Hemas Holdings, with the turnover crossing Rs. 904 million, whilst the S&P SL20 edged up. Crossings were witnessed in Odel and National Development Bank, accounting for 54.9% of the turnover.
NDB Securities said mixed interest was observed in Dialog Axiata and Janashakthi Insurance. Furthermore, foreigners remained active, closing as net sellers, mainly due to foreign selling in John Keells Holdings.
