New CEO at Nation Lanka Finance

Nation Lanka Finance PLC has announced the appointment of Chandika Yasanath Bandara Weerakoon as the new CEO.

Weerakoon possesses the following academic and professional qualifications: Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka); Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK; Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Sri Lanka; Attorney-at-Law and a Graduate in Law by holding a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the Open University of Sri Lanka.

He also holds a Masters’ Degree in Business Administration, passed with a merit from the University of London Metropolitan.

He has wide experience in banking, finance, administration and other areas. From 2011 to May 2020 he was the Deputy General Manager and Chief Financial Officer Serendib Finance Ltd. (Formerly Indra Finance Ltd.), and from June 2020 to March 2022 he was the Chief Executive Officer of Sinhaputhra Finance Ltd.

Previous positions held include 1994 to 2001 Ernst & Young Chartered Accountants as an Auditor and Audit Manager; from 2002 to 2004 Venture International Ltd. as the Financial Strategist and Financial Controller; from 2005 to 2007 C Front Clothing Ltd. as the Financial Controller and Director and from 2008 to 2009 Commercial Credit Ltd. as the Senior Manager Finance/Chief Financial Officer. He also served as the National Water Supply and Drainage Board as a Project Accountant in 2010.
