New Treasury nominee on NDB Board

National Development Bank Plc has announced the appointment of R. Semasinghe as a Non Executive Non Independent Director to its Board. 

Semasinge is the Additional Secretary, Ministry of Finance and Media and also serves the Boards of Management as a Board Member/Treasury Representative of the Ceylon Electricity Board, Sri Jayawardenapura General Hospital, Central Environmental Authority, Police Academy – Katana and the Academy of Financial Studies (MILODA).

He fills the vacancy created by the resignation of former Treasury nominee Anula Harasagama in June 2017.

Semasinghe possess 34 years of experience in the public service and has previously functioned as the Director General at the Ministry of Finance, Director of Customs (Acting), Director General – Trade and Investment Policy Department and Director General – Public Enterprises Development.

Semasinghe holds a B (Development) Studies Special Degree from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, a Msc from the Agricultural University of Norway. He also holds a Diploma in IT from the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration.

With the latest appointment, the Board of Directors of NDB Plc comprises of A.W. Atukorala (Chairman), A. Pathirage (Deputy Chairman), Dimantha Seneviratne (CEO), T.L.F. Jayasekara, K. Fernando, D.S.P. Wikramanayake, I. Sugathadasa, D. Phillips, K. Ratnayake and R. Semasinghe.
