PMF Finance announces four new Independent Non-Executive Directors

PMF Finance PLC has announced the appointment of four new Independent Non-Executive Directors to its Board, further strengthening its leadership with a diverse range of expertise across various industries. 

The new appointees are Rohan Pandithakorralage, K.M.D.B. Rekogama, Asoka Goonesekere, and Kaniska Weerasinghe.

These appointments are a testament to the company’s commitment to enhancing its governance and driving sustainable growth as it navigates the evolving financial services landscape. 

Pandithakorralage brings over 40 years of experience in Human Resources and sustainable business management. A co-founder of the Association of Human Resource Professionals in Sri Lanka, he has been a key player in transforming HR into a strategic function within organisations. He has also served as a board member of a multinational conglomerate for over 15 years and is currently the Vice President of Lanka Jathika Sarvodaya Shramadana Sangamaya Inc. His contributions to the HR field have been recognised with prestigious awards, and his experience spans several countries, including Sri Lanka, Australia, and India.

Rekogama brings over 33 years of expertise in engineering, banking, and MSME consultancy. A former banker and lecturer, Rekogama holds multiple academic qualifications, including an MBA from Sikkim Manipal University. He currently serves as a Director at Rekobiz Private Limited, providing engineering and financial solutions to MSME industries and offering consultancy services to multinational agencies. His vast experience in banking, engineering, and MSME sectors will be invaluable to PMF Finance.

Goonesekere, is a finance expert with extensive experience in financial reporting, risk management, and commercial banking. He has held senior leadership positions, including Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) at DFCC Bank PLC. In addition, he has served on the boards of Pan Asia Banking Corporation PLC and HNB Assurance PLC. Goonesekere’s background in risk management, governance, and financial strategy will significantly strengthen PMF Finance’s oversight and operational resilience.

Weerasinghe, is an Attorney-at-Law with over 30 years of experience. He has held pivotal roles in both national and international organisations, including the Attorney General’s Department and the Employers’ Federation of Ceylon. His deep expertise in employment law and policy, combined with his legal consultancy experience for corporate sector giants like MAS Capital Holdings, makes him a valuable addition to PMF Finance’s Board.

These appointments are in line with PMF Finance’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its governance framework and ensuring the company continues to deliver outstanding value to its stakeholders. The expertise of the newly appointed directors will complement the current Board, which is already comprised of professionals from diverse industries including banking, finance, and legal services. This strengthened leadership team is well-equipped to guide PMF Finance toward continued success in the 

competitive financial services industry.
