2018 was a year of growth, innovation and a shift in focus from not just how a payment is processed, but how payments can improve the overall customer experience. Customer experience is not just a hot topic in marketing, but in almost all spheres of e-commerce, self-service and payments.

PayHere became the first and only local company to receive approval from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka to operate as an aggregated payments service provider being compliant to CBSL Direction No. 1 of 2018. PayHere is partnered with Bhasha Lanka and Emerging Media.

In the past, there was no proper and affordable way to accept online payments in Sri Lanka. PayHere, a Sri Lankan company took note of this critical need, met the challenge to build a local solution to enhance business transactions. With the vision ‘To Empower Sri Lankan Businesses with Digital Payments’, PayHere built a payment aggregator platform in collaboration with local banks and Telco’s.

Backed by Sampath Bank PLC, PayHere guarantees a Bank level security for all the payments under CBSL regulations. Sri Lankan businesses can now enjoy cutting edge payment solutions such as payment links, plugins, recurring payments, subscriptions and automated payments with PayHere for the first time ever. PayHere aims to further simplify e-commerce payments and empower all types of Sri Lankan businesses; Startup, SMEs, corporates with the ease of online payments.

PayHere Founder and CEO Dhanika Perera states, “At PayHere, we’re excited by the breakthrough in the ease of payments, in particular the growing shift to omni-channel online payments and the innovative ways that our merchants are using our payment platform to improve the experience of their customers. It demonstrates that regardless of industry, we continue to see a massive rise in digital payment experiences.”
