People’s Bank International Banking Division – Trade Services receives ISO 9001:2015 re-certification

People’s Bank, has announced that its Trade Services - International Banking Division has been awarded the SLS ISO 90010 2015 accreditation for the fourth time by the Sri Lanka Standards Institute (SLSI). 

This recognition highlights the bank’s commitment to providing high-quality trade services and ensuring the security and efficiency of its import and export services 20 its customers.

The People’s Bank Trade Services Department offers a centralised processing mechanism for the country’s largest commercial banking network, with 747 branches and service centres. The bank is equipped with user-friendly systems that make transactions easy and accessible to over 15.2 million customers.

The People’s Bank’s Trade Services – International Banking Division was initially accredited by the SLSI in 2013 and was re-accredited in 2016, 2018,  and 2022 after meeting the requirements of the SLS/ISO 9001:2008 and 9001:2015 standards. The division was audited once again by the SLSI in 2024 and was declared qualified for recertification for the consecutive fourth time.

The bank strives to maintain its customer-centric approach and provide timely and responsive services through its competent and experienced staff. The bank also continuously invests in dynamic systems and technology to meet the rapidly changing requirements of its customers.

People’s Bank International Banking Deputy General Manager Thushari Hewawasam, Trade Services Chief Manager Kamala Subasinghe, Trade Services Senior Manager Sandamali Ranepura, along with members of the ISO team from People’s Bank, Shashie Ramawickrama, Praneetha Kasthuriarachchi, Kasun Weerasekara, Sajeewani Hapugala, Yuresha Herath, Thilini Samaratunge, Nisansala Subasekera and Anusha Hearth were also present. Representing the Sri Lanka Standard Institute were Deputy Director General M.B.D. Neelakanthi, Deputy Director General S.U. Narangoda, and Senior Deputy Director of Systems Certification M.W.A.T.Y. Wijesuriya.
