People’s Bank has announced its recognition as Sri Lanka’s Best Digital Bank at the prestigious Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2024. This accolade underscores the bank’s unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence in the digital banking landscape. 

The Euromoney Awards for Excellence is considered as one of the highest level recognitions within the global banking industry, celebrating institutions that excel in differentiation and deliver exceptional services to their customers. For over 30 years, these awards have recognised banks and bankers who have set benchmarks in the industry, making it one of the most sought-after honours in the financial sector.

As a leader in digital banking in Sri Lanka, People’s Bank has implemented a series of cutting-edge initiatives designed to enhance customer experiences and broaden financial inclusivity. With a focus on innovation, accessibility, and convenience, the bank has successfully transformed its services to meet the evolving needs of customers across the nation.

People’s Bank, has been leading the digital banking landscape in Sri Lanka with innovative initiatives targeted at improving client experiences. The bank initiated a digital banking project in 2015, introducing a comprehensive range of digital solutions which include digital account opening, mobile banking apps, digital loans, internet banking, digital wallets and virtual account opening services. As a result of these innovations, the bank now serves over three million digital customers.

Customer service is also a focus, as seen by the development of “People’s Zen,” an intelligent chatbot that provides 24-hour assistance. To promote digital literacy, the bank interacts with consumers via educational content on social media.
