People’s Bank holds religious programs to mark its 63rd anniversary

People’s Bank celebrated its 63rd Anniversary, which fell on 1 July, with a series of religious programs. Organised by the bank’s Buddhist Association, Hindu Association, Muslim Majlis and the Christian Guild, the religious observances were held at People’s Bank Head Office premises amidst a large gathering of bank employees.

Accordingly, People’s Bank’s Buddhist Association organised a Pirith Ceremony. Hindu Association, Muslim Majlis and the Christian Guild of People’s Bank also conducted respective religious observances on 1 July.

The religious programs were organised with the aim to invoke blessings to the country, staff members and customers as well as the founders of People’s Bank. People’s Bank Chairman Sujeewa Rajapakse and Chief Executive Officer/General Manager Clive Fonseka, Corporate and Executive Management of the bank, the present and past staff members graced the occasion.
