People’s Bank joins ‘Lanka Remit’ national remittance mobile app

People’s Bank joined hands with ‘Lanka Remit’, the much-awaited national remittance mobile app which was launched yesterday.

The ‘Lanka Remit’ app was developed by Lanka Clear Ltd. in collaboration with Central Bank of Sri Lanka with a view to facilitate inward remittances to the country.

People’s Bank became one of the first banks to join this initiative and as such was presented with a special plaque by the Chief Guest Minister of Youth and Sports, Minister of Development Co-ordination and Monitoring and State Minister of Digital Technology and Enterprise Development Namal Rajapaksa, at the launch ceremony held at Central Bank.

The launching ceremony was also attended by CBSL Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Assistant Governor Dharmasiri Kumaratunga, People’s Bank CEO/General Manager Ranjith Kodituwakku, Lanka Clear Ltd. Chairman Dr. Kenneth De Zilwa, CEOs of banks and several senior CBSL officials.
