People’s Bank promotes LankaQR facility in Tangalle

In line with the ‘LankaQR National Rollout Campaign’ launched by the Central Bank (CBSL), People’s Bank conducted a promotional program in the Tangalle area to raise awareness about the LankaQR payment system via the People’s Pay app.

The Central Bank introduced the LankaQR payment system with the intention of making cashless transactions easier and less costly for people by enabling payments via their mobile phones.

The event was graced by the Chief Guest Minister of Youth and Sports, Minister of Development Co-ordination and Monitoring and State Minister of Digital Technology and Enterprise Development Namal Rajapaksa and the Assistant Governor of CBSL D. Kumaratunge. People’s Bank Head of Marketing Nalaka Wijewardena, Chief Manager (Digitalization) Mangala Kariyawasam, Hambantota Regional Manager L.P.N Gunawardana, Assistant Regional Manager A.L.C.P. Abeyasinghe, Tangalle Branch Manager G.A.D. Rasajeewa, and Hambantota Regional Business Promotion Officers and Regional Office and Branch staff members were present at this program.
