People’s Bank wins two awards at Daraz Payment Partner Awards

People’s Bank’s contribution towards the success of Daraz online shopping marketplace was recognised with two awards at the Daraz Payment Partner Performance Awards 2021 - 2022 held recently at Uga Residence, Colombo. 

The two awards - ‘Best Turn Around Bank’ and ‘Best Debit Card Growth’ - highlighted the extent to which People’s Bank Debit Card customers have increased their online purchasing activities on the Daraz online shopping marketplace. This is a step in the right direction for the Bank as well as Sri Lanka as a country and underscores the increasing confidence of customers in using e-commerce for their purchases. 

Held annually, the Daraz Payment Partner Performance Awards aims to reward and recognise the contributions made by its large number of payment partners in making its business model a success.

The People’s Debit Card is available to any People’s Bank customer with a Savings, Current, NRFC, Individual/Joint or Proprietorship Account. Customers with any of these accounts are eligible for a Debit Card which can be used locally and internationally at merchants that accept Visa / Master cards. They can enjoy ATM cash withdrawals at over 300 local ATMs and POS transactions at over 20 million merchant outlets worldwide.

Throughout the year People’s Credit and Debit Cardholders enjoy significant discounts at leading hotels and resorts, restaurants, supermarkets, automobile service centres, hospitals, online stores, fitness centres, as well as at various stores that provide a wide selection of lifestyle products such as books, clothes, shoes, leather products, household items, electronics and jewellery. Additionally, they also get the chance to benefit from interest-free easy payment instalment plans at selected companies with no surcharge.
