People’s bank promotes LankaQR facility in Gampaha

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka launched another Lanka QR promotional program in Gampaha city and People’s Bank also participated in this program to raise awareness about the LankaQR payment system via its People’s Pay app.

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka introduced Lanka QR, the unique payment system to revolutionise the payment culture in the country, by introducing a fast, secure and low cost digital payment system island-wide.

The event was graced by the Chief Guest Minister of Youth and Sports, Minister of Development Co-ordination and Monitoring and State Minister of Digital Technology and Enterprise Development Namal Rajapaksa, Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranatunga, Mayor of Gampaha Eranga Senanayake and CBSL Assistant Governor D. Kumaratunge. People’s Bank Acting Chief Executive Officer/General Manager K.B. Rajapaksa, Chief Digital Officer Mangala Kariyawasam, Gampaha Regional Manager G.R.S. Kodagoda, Assistant Regional Managers, Branch Managers, Business Promotion Officers of the Gampaha region and the staff of the People’s Bank branches participated in this event.
