Prasanna de Silva promoted to Deputy MD at Central Finance

Central Finance Company PLC Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer Dhammika Prasanna de Silva has been appointed as the Executive Director/Deputy Managing Director with effect from 1 July in accordance with the company’s succession plan.

de Silva was appointed to the Central Finance Company PLC Board of Directors in July 2011 as Credit Director. He served as Director/Chief Operating Officer from 1 July 2020, until his appointment as Deputy Managing Director on 1 July 2024.

Having joined the company as a credit executive in 1991, de Silva headed the Credit Division of the company as Credit General Manager at the time of his appointment to the Board in 2011. He oversees the functions of credit, recoveries, branches, vehicle hire, vehicle sales, and corporate social responsibility of the company.

He served as the Sri Lanka Leasing Association Chairman from 2007-2009 and as a Nations Trust Bank PLC Non-Executive Director from 2012 -2020.

de Silva also serves as a director of several other unquoted companies within the Group.

He is a Chartered Institute of Management Accountants – UK Fellow and a passed finalist of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program.
