Prayers held at Dewatagaha Mosque to celebrate ComBank’s centenary

Commercial Bank’s religious ceremony in progress at the Dewatagaha Mosque

Special prayers were offered at the Dewatagaha Mosque at C.W.W. Kannangara Mawatha, Colombo 7 recently to mark the 100th anniversary of the Commercial Bank of Ceylon. 

The event was one of a series of religious observances representing the four major denominational faiths in the country to invoke blessings on the country as well as the bank’s customers, employees and families.

Commercial Bank Chairman Dharma Dheerasinghe, Managing Director S. Renganathan, Chief Operating Officer Sanath Manatunge, directors, senior management and present and past staff members participated in the prayer ceremony. Events to felicitate stakeholders, a country-wide community initiative that will benefit 100 schools and a large-scale reforestation project are also planned as part of the bank’s calendar for its centenary year celebrations.
