Prof. Malik Ranasinghe appointed to Pan Asia Bank Board

Prof. Malik Ranasinghe will be joining the Board of Pan Asia Banking Corporation (PABC) as a Non-Executive, Independent Director with effect from 1 January 2024.

Ranasinghe is the Chairman of the Information and Communication Technology Agency and a retired Senior Professor in Civil Engineering at the University of Moratuwa. 

He is a Chartered Engineer, International Professional Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka, Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences Sri Lanka, Fellow of the Institute of Project Managers Sri Lanka and Graduate Member of Sri Lanka Institute of Directors. 

He is also an independent non-executive Director at Access Engineering, Resus Energy, Teejay Lanka and United Motors Lanka. 

Prof. Ranasinghe is a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Moratuwa and a former Chairman of Sampath Bank. 

He is a former Chairman of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Directors of Sri Lanka, former Commission Member of the University Grants Commission, former Council Member of the National Research Council, and a former Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Moratuwa, he is a former Fellow of the National University of Singapore, and former independent non-executive Director of the Colombo Stock Exchange, Sampath Bank, Lanka IOC and Hemas Power. Ranasinghe graduated in civil engineering from the University of Moratuwa and obtained his MSc and PhD from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada in Civil Engineering Economics as a Canadian Commonwealth Scholar.

With the latest appointment, the Board of Directors of PABC will comprise M.Y.A. Perera (Chairman), J.D.N. Kekulawala (Deputy Chairman), Nalin Edirisinghe (CEO/Director), B.D.A. Perera, S.A. Walgama, C.M.U. Weerawardena, H. Ota, A.A.K. Amarasinghe and Prof. Malik Ranasinghe.
