As a commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the Association of Professional Bankers Sri Lanka (APB), a series of religious ceremonies was conducted, symbolising the organisation’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity.
These ceremonies encompassed various faiths, embodying the spirit of harmony and unity.
The Catholic religious ceremony took place on 18 July at the Infant Jesus Church in Slave Island, underscoring the APB’s reverence for the Catholic community and their pivotal role in the organisation’s journey.
Similarly, on 25 July, a Buddhist religious ceremony was observed at the revered Dalada Maligawa in Kandy, signifying the APB’s respect for Buddhism and its significance in Sri Lanka’s cultural fabric.
The Islamic religious ceremony was held on 2 August at the Dewatagaha Mosque in Town Hall, showcasing the APB’s recognition of the Islamic faith and its diverse membership.
The Hindu religious ceremony, conducted on 4 August at Sri Ponnambalawaneswarar Kovil in Kotahena, paid tribute to the Hindu community and their invaluable contribution to the APB’s growth over the years.
APB said this initiative not only celebrates its significant milestone but also reaffirms its commitment to fostering inclusivity, mutual respect, and understanding among its members of various faiths. Through these ceremonious events, the APB underscores the importance of unity and diversity in shaping the collective identity and shared values of the organisation.
