Rusiripala appointed PM’s adviser on banking and investment affairs

T. Rusiripala has been appointed as the Honorary Adviser to the Prime Minister on Banking and Investment Affairs. 

Rusiripala has held several public positions in the past as Chairman of Bank of Ceylon, National Gem & Jewellery Authority, Member of the Colombo Municipal Council, Co-coordinating Secretary to the Minister of Higher Education, and Member of the Monetary Policy Consultative Committee of the CBSL.

He was the President of the Ceylon Bank Employees Union (1987-1994). He is also a member of the Board of Governors in the Government Approved University BMS and a Ministry appointed Director of the Local Loan Development Board (LLDF).

During his tenure as a Trade Unionist he was appointed as a member of the National Labour Advising Council and as a member of the Ministry appointed Committee for Amending the Acts of Incorporation of the Bank of Ceylon and People’s Bank following the restructuring program sponsored by the World Bank.
