SDB bank marked its 27th anniversary with a series of events that emphasised its commitment to both its employees and the communities it serves across Sri Lanka recently.

The week-long celebrations reflected the bank’s dedication to social responsibility, sustainability, and employee recognition, embodying the core values and mission that have guided SDB bank since its inception in 1997.

In celebration of this milestone, SDB bank conducted a number of initiatives around three main programs and the first was a special recognition ceremony honouring employees who have dedicated 25 years of service to the bank. These long-serving staff members were awarded gold coins in appreciation of their unwavering commitment and contributions to the bank’s growth and success, underscoring the bank’s deep respect for them.

In addition, SDB bank’s corporate management and the welfare society spearheaded two other major initiatives including a renovation project at Kirulapone Kumara Uthayan Tamil School, and a blood donation drive benefiting Maharagama Apeksha Hospital. These initiatives brought together employees and community members, reflecting the bank’s ethos of giving back in meaningful ways. The refurbishment of the Kirulapone Kumara Uthayan Tamil School’s facilities aimed to create a more conducive learning environment for students, showcasing SDB bank’s commitment to nurturing the next generation by ensuring they have access to quality educational resources.

As SDB bank celebrates this significant milestone, it remains steadfast in its mission to drive positive change in the lives of its customers and communities through its network of 94 branches across the country. The 27th anniversary celebrations honour the bank’s rich history and set the stage for future initiatives that will further strengthen its impact on society and the economy.
