SDB bank strengthens leadership team with appointment of new Deputy CEO

To support and guide future progress and growth, while ensuring stability, the SDB bank is strengthening its corporate leadership team with the appointment of Niranjan Thangarajah as Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO). 

Thangarajah’s experience in corporate, SME, and retail banking, along with his extensive exposure in bank credit, risk management and transactional banking spans across 20 years. He has also built a formidable reputation for building and managing high-performance teams and served in various capacities and roles at leading global and local banks. Thangarajah was the Head, of Business Banking at Standard Chartered Bank, Colombo immediately prior to taking up duties at SDB bank and also served as Assistant Vice President Corporate Banking and Branch Banking at National Development Bank Plc. During his banking career he has also worked in relationship management, business development and other customer facing roles.

He holds an MBA from the American University of Asia, an MSc in Professional Accounting from the University of London and is an accredited member of ACCA UK.
