Saman Samarakoon appointed as the Deputy General Manager – Operations of SDB bank

Saman Samarakoon has been appointed as the DGM – Operations of SDB bank and will be managing technology, operations and administration of the bank. 

He counts over 24 years of experience in banking and IT industries. He started his career at DMS as a software engineer and then worked at IBM for more than 13 years prior to joining SDB bank in 2011. 

Saman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Moratuwa and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Colombo. He is also a Chartered Engineer in the field of Computer Engineering. 

He is an active member of the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka and served as a Council member for thtee years and also held the position of Chairman of Computer Engineering Sectional Committee of IESL from 2012 to 2015.
